How does SKUuz use AI to generate product content?

SKUuz uses large language models (LLMs) to generate SEO-optimised product descriptions, short descriptions, feature bullets, SEO titles, meta descriptions, and any other text-based attribute you configure. The AI analyses your existing product data — including name, brand, category, all attribute values, and optionally the primary product image — to produce contextually accurate, unique content tailored to each product. You control the output through AI Field Prompts, which let you specify the tone (professional, casual, technical, luxurious), character length limits, which context attributes to include, and a custom prompt template with variable placeholders. Content can be generated for a single product from the PDP or in bulk across hundreds of products at once from the data grid.

What are AI Field Prompts and how do I configure them?

AI Field Prompts are per-field configuration templates that give you precise control over how AI generates content for each attribute. For every AI-enabled field (e.g. Description, Short Description, SEO Title, Meta Description, Feature Bullets), you define: a prompt template with variable placeholders that are dynamically replaced with real product data; the desired tone of voice; minimum and maximum character limits; which additional context attributes should be included in the prompt; and whether to include the product's primary image for visual analysis. AI Field Prompts are managed in Settings under AI Content, and changes take effect immediately for the next generation request. You can create AI Field Prompts for any text-based attribute in your data model — including custom attributes and category-specific attributes.

Can AI generate content based on product images?

Yes. When 'Include Primary Image' is enabled on an AI Field Prompt, the model performs visual analysis of the product's primary image alongside the text data. This multimodal approach is especially powerful for generating accurate colour descriptions, material callouts, texture descriptions, pattern identification, and visual feature highlights that would be impossible to capture from text attributes alone.

How do AI credits work?

AI credits are the currency for all AI agent operations in SKUuz. When an agent generates a product description (5 credits), translates a field (2–3 credits), categorizes a product (2 credits), or generates image alt text (2 credits), it consumes credits from your monthly allotment. Each plan tier includes a different credit budget — see the Pricing page for exact amounts by plan and platform. Credit usage is tracked in real time on the Command Center dashboard. Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. Non-AI operations like validation (rule-based) and pricing (formula-based) consume zero credits.

What happens when I run out of AI credits?

When your monthly credit allotment is consumed, AI agent operations pause until the start of your next billing cycle. Non-AI agents (validation, pricing with formulaic rules) continue running normally. You can purchase a one-time Launch Pack credit add-on to resume immediately, or upgrade your plan for more included monthly credits. Your existing product data is never affected by credit exhaustion.

Can I use AI to generate content for custom attributes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. AI content generation works for any text-based attribute in your data model, including custom attributes and category-specific attributes. For example, you could create an AI prompt for a custom 'Marketing Copy' attribute, a 'Social Media Caption' field, or a category-specific 'Care Instructions' attribute that only appears for Apparel products.
