What are publish rules and how do they work?

Publish rules auto-assign products to publish hierarchy nodes based on conditions you define. A rule like 'product_type equals Snowboard' assigns all matching products to the Snowboard node. Rules support equals, not equals, contains, starts with, is empty, is not empty operators, with AND/OR logic across multiple condition groups. SKUuz evaluates rules automatically and calculates a readiness score. Products that meet all requirements are marked 'ready to publish'. You can also manage publish rules via the Command Center Agent using natural language.

How does the publish hierarchy work?

The publish hierarchy is a tree of nodes representing your storefront navigation or channel structure. Products assigned to nodes become eligible for publishing. Nodes can be auto-created from your product_type values (via the auto_create_publish_nodes system), from categories during import, or manually for custom structures like 'Sale Items' or 'New Arrivals'.

How does the channel listener work?

The channel listener tracks which products have changed since their last push. When you modify a product's attributes, images, or variants, the listener marks it as pending sync. The Channels → Publish page shows how many products have pending changes. Click 'Push to Shopify' to send all pending changes to your connected store.

What data gets pushed to Shopify?

When you publish, SKUuz builds Shopify productSet mutation payloads that include all mapped fields — title, description, vendor, category, metafields, variants, pricing, images, SEO fields, and translations for all configured locales. The integration profile controls exactly which SKUuz attributes map to which Shopify fields, including metafield namespace/key mapping for custom data.
