How does multi-locale translation work?

SKUuz supports 41 built-in locales with a cascading resolution system. When a product is requested in a specific locale, the system checks: (1) stored translation for that locale, (2) fallback translation from a related locale, (3) default value in the base locale. Every field always resolves to a value — there are never blank fields in any locale. Translation Agents automate the entire process, generating locale-aware translations that respect cultural context. The agent batch-translates multiple fields per product in a single AI call for efficiency, and marks translations as 'outdated' when the source text changes so it re-translates on the next run.

What is BrandGuard™?

BrandGuard™ is a glossary system that protects specific terms during both translation and content generation. You define terms that should never be translated (brand names like 'Nike' or 'iPhone'), terms that must use a specific translation in each locale, and match rules (exact, case-insensitive, or contains). Both the Translation Agent and the Content Agent receive the glossary as context and respect all term rules. You can manage BrandGuard terms from the Refine section or directly via the Command Center Agent using natural language commands.

How many locales can I use?

The number of locales depends on your plan: Free allows 1 locale, Starter allows 3, Growth allows 10, and Professional allows unlimited locales. You can add any locale from the 41 built-in options (covering major world languages including RTL languages like Arabic and Hebrew). Each locale can be configured independently with its own translation agents.

Do translations sync to Shopify?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When you publish products to Shopify, the publish payload includes translations for all configured locales. Shopify stores with Shopify Markets or translation apps receive the translated content. SKUuz also supports pulling existing translations from Shopify and pushing updated translations back, maintaining a full bidirectional translation sync.
